Meridian History Center

Visit the Meridian History Center

In 2021 care of the Meridian History Collection transferred from the former Meridian Historical Society to the Meridian Library District. The materials are now part of our collection and are located at Meridian City Hall.

The Meridian History Center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday - Friday for self-guided tours. We will continue to assess the archived documents, photographs, and artifacts in the collection.

No donations, please. The Meridian History Collection is currently undergoing inventory and maintenance. While we are in this transition period we are unable to accept any gifts of historical materials for the collection. For more information about the Cherry Lane Branch renovation, please visit mld.org/projects.

Digitization Projects

Meridian Library District is continually digitizing Meridian historical collections in an effort to preserve, document, and make available the history and culture of the area. Initial digitization work began in 2022 and was made possible by a SHARP Operations Grant through the Idaho Humanities Council. Funding for this grant has been provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the American Rescue Plan.
