The discussion is part of the Idaho Commission for Libraries' Let's Talk About It program. Since 1985, Let’s Talk About It has brought adult reading discussion groups together with humanities scholars in Idaho’s public libraries to discuss literature. This event is part of a series titled "Starting the Conversation: Race & Racism in America." 

Dave Nicholas teaches creative writing, literature, and English composition at the College of Western Idaho in Boise. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Utah and a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from Boise State University. While studying at Boise State, Dave worked on the award-winning journal, The Idaho Review. In addition to his teaching duties at CWI, Dave works with students on the student-led publication, Basalt, a journal of undergraduate fiction, poetry, non-fiction, and visual arts.
