The discussion is part of the Idaho Commission for Libraries' Let's Talk About It program. Since 1985, Let’s Talk About It has brought adult reading discussion groups together with humanities scholars in Idaho’s public libraries to discuss literature. This event is part of a series titled "Starting the Conversation: Race & Racism in America." 

Heike Henderson is Professor of German and Associate Chair of the Department of World Languages at Boise State University, where she has taught a wide variety of upper-division literature and culture classes – including two different classes about food in literature and film – since 1997. Her research expertise is in contemporary German literature and intercultural differences. She has published on Turkish-German women writers, on food in literature, and on finding balance between family and career.
