Join Dr. Catherine Riddle from Idaho National Laboratory for a LIVE virtual LABrary! Explore the possibilities of LEGO science by building your own creations using the LEGO Digital Designer software. This program is geared toward grades 4-6.

Dr. Riddle is a senior research scientist at INL with 21 years of experience in the area of radiochemistry and radiochemical separations. She mentors young scientists through INL internships and future scientists through STEM programs for K-12 students.

Download the LEGO Digital Designer before the program by following these steps: 

  • Visit https://www.lego.com/en-us/ldd.
  • Download and install the version of LDD that matches your operating system.
  • For Mac users with OS 10.14 or older, you may need to authorize the LDD in your system preferences. If you encounter the error message “'LDD.pkg’ cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer,” you can easily and safely authorize the app by going to System Preferences > Security & Privacy, under the General tab. Click Open Anyway to confirm your intent to open or install the LDD software. Confirm you want to open the software and begin installation.
  • Please note: LEGO Digital Designer is not compatible with macOS Catalina (10.15).
