Come down to the Cherry Lane library Saturday, February 16th, at 3:00 p.m. to meet author Pam Houston for a free reading and book signing event! Pam is the author of the novels Contents May Have Shifted and Sight Hound; and two short story collections, Cowboys Are My Weakness and Waltzing the Cat. Her books will be for sale courtesy of Hyde Park Books, with a portion of the proceeds supporting library programs.
Check out our Winter Reading Program game boards for early readers and older readers! Complete the board and bring it in to receive a Winter White Hot Chocolate from Powell's Sweet Shoppe, and a Treasure Chest Prize. The program runs from December 24th-January 15th.
This week is Idaho Family Reading Week and if you come to any one of the Meridian Library locations, you can ask to receive up to a $5 waiver in overdue fines just for visiting the library!
Each location also has other activities, books, and more for you to check out to help get your child reading. We're still making single-serve chocolate cakes here at the Bookmobile (until we run out) so stop by when you get the chance!
Check out daybydayid.org during Family Reading Week. It includes daily reading and family activities like story time, sing-a-longs and crafts. You can get ideas to complete the Bookmobile's Family Reading Week activities to win prizes! Activities include singing a song together, reading bedtime stories and attending a library program.
